Contrast

So I have three current obsessions at the moment. They are all very different from eachother.

The first, you may know. Damien Rice. His song, Cannonball, I find at the moment very musical, and lyrical. Once I get my guitar again I plan on learning it.
The second, you may also know. Tenacious D. This is Jack Black's band, and you may have heard a lot of hype over their movie, The Pick of Destiny. Their song, Master Exploder, I like for its humor, great guitar, and Jack Black's incredible vocals. It is also confirmed as a song on Rock Band 2, which is coming out this fall. Unfortunately, I cannot find a link to the clean version. If you are fine with swearing, then you can look it up yourself. (Don't worry, I have and only listen to the clean version ;))
The last I am positive almost none of you have heard of. His name is Serj Tankian. He was the lead singer for the nu-metal band System of a Down. His song, Feed Us, is by far one of my favorites. This song portrays a lot of politics within the lyrics, mainly about the Middle East, and I find the music and his voice to be captivating.

So please, comment and let me know what you think. I'd like to know who is your favorite out of the three (Though I'm positive Damien Rice will win, unless you guys have different taste then I expected).

P.S. Check in soon for a new song.

Willpower

After a hard day's work, don't we all feel exhausted?

At the end of a bad day, don't want to just run away?
This world's not right we say. And yet we can't make it better.
Help us.

I want to leave this world, and run away, run away.
I want to find a better place to stay.
I want to find a land free of hate, and free of pain.
Please tell me how to get there.

Faint away, faint away. Away from reality, our reality.
Wake up, wake up. Up to our life long dreams, sweet dreams.
Hand in hand, we can walk. Through to sunset to where we long to be,
Reality is what we make it.

Close your eyes, close your eyes. Shut out the empty night, the horror.
Open up, open wide. Look around, but don't glance down, the bloodied spikes on the floor.
Raise your head to the sky, and laugh in the face of Fate. Make your own destiny!
Reality is what we make it.

After the war ends, will anything still be the same?
Once we all return home, will it all just be where we left it?
Its gotten worse out there, but no one believes us.
Tell them.

I want to leave this world, and run away, run away.
I want to find a better place to stay.
I want to find a land free of hate, and free of pain.
Please tell me how to get there.

Dream away, dream away. Nothing will happen 'till you try, just keep trying.
Snap back, snap back. Back to reality, now try to make a difference, such a difference.
Mind in mind, we can think this through, and get to where we long to be.
Reality is what we make it.

Block out the light, block out the light. Its not real, its all a trick. A magician's illusion.
Look into the night, look into the night. Its full and bright, bright with fright. Feed on others.
Avert your gaze from the eyes of the gods, and rise up and fight for your life!
Reality is what we make it.

The king will laugh as we die inside.
The king will laugh as we scream.
We must try as hard as we can to survive!
Willpower, sheer willpower is all we need.

Reality, is all we make it.
Its in our heads.

The Time is Right

Every season, the farmer struggles.
Every year he lays near death.
Every night, his back is aching.
Every time he breathes he stops to think.

He wonders why he cannot live
In sweet, blissful luxury.
He wonders why he cannot live
Free.

And yet, one day, he stands up.
He breaks the shackles from his hands.
He lifts his head to the sky.
He laughs at the gods.

The time is right he yells to his brothers.
He shows them the way to life.
He runs now with his small army.

He tells his brothers,
Now we can make our dreams
become reality.

He tells his brothers,
Now we can do it.
We can live like a man.

Everywhere, the innocent are imprisoned
Every year, there is a false execution.
Every day, they rot and they suffer.
And every thought is an angry thought.

They wonder how this could happen.
How could Fate play with their lives like this?
And yet, they always suffer.
They wish to be free.

And still, one day, they will stand up.
They will break the cells that contain them.
They will lower their heads at their enemies.
They will laugh in their faces.

The time is right, they yell to each other.
They show each other to key to success.
They runs now with their small army.

They tell each other,
Now we can make our dreams
become reality.

They tell each other,
Now we can do it.
We can live free.

Not all stories have happy endings
Not all our lives are fairy tales.
Its time to distinguish reality from lies.

Those these great men, stood for each other.
They stood to survive justly.
The world tends to be very cruel.
The ending however, is up to you.
